About GWI

Mission


GWI‘s purpose is to help businesses recognize the opportunity, high-quality workforce and outstanding livability of the metropolitan region encompassing the District of Columbia, Northern Virginia and Suburban Maryland. The organization works to promote healthy economic growth by positioning Greater Washington as the location of choice for employers and employees.

A non-profit affiliate of the Greater Washington Board of Trade, GWI coordinates the Area Business Development Officials Committee, comprised of senior economic development officials of area jurisdictions. This Committee collaborates on projects to improve the region’s business climate. GWI also supports the Greater Washington Tourism Alliance on projects to increase visitation to the region.
