In 2003, an estimated $780 million in venture capital was put to work in the Mid-Atlantic region, in more than 160 deals. Software investments continued to be strong, as did biotechnology investment opportunities. In fact, in 2003, our region ranked 3rd nationwide in the number of software investments and 5th nationwide in the number of bio deals.

According to the Mid Atlantic Venture Association (MAVA), the region is poised for a positive 2004, with promising investment opportunities in the region and strong entrepreneurial growth.
