GWI Names Matt Erskine as Executive Director | The Greater Washington Board of Trade has hired Matt Erskine as the new executive director of the Greater Washington Initiative. Erskine will assume his new role on July 7. He formerly held the position of deputy secretary of commerce and trade from 2002 to 2005 under then Virginia Governor Mark Warner.  Before coming to the Board of Trade, he was the president of PLAY, a management consulting firm in Richmond, Virginia.  He has also worked in Washington D.C. for several years in positions at Korn/Ferry International and Coopers & Lybrand Consulting (now IBM Business Consulting). GWI Exhibits at WIREC 2008 | The Greater Washington Initiative sponsored and hosted an exhibit at the Washington International Renewable Energy Conference (WIREC 2008) in March. The conference brought together government, civil society and private business leaders to address the benefits and costs of a major and rapid scale-up in the global deployment of renewable energy technology.
