Greater Washington Initiative to Host Educational Sessions
at FOSE 2006 in Washington, DC, March 7-9

WASHINGTON , DC; February 28, 2006 – The Greater Washington Initiative (GWI), regional economic development marketing organization for the District of Columbia, Northern Virginia and Suburban Maryland, will host a series of educational sessions at FOSE 2006, to be held March 7-9 at the Washington Convention Center.

FOSE 2006 is the nation’s largest information technology exhibition serving the government marketplace. Celebrating its 30 th anniversary, more than 500 exhibitors and 25,000 attendees will come together at FOSE 2006 to share information, develop partnerships and advance the goals of government IT.

During FOSE, GWI will present a unique series of sessions to help companies to develop strategies for winning government contracts. Attendees will learn who is currently purchasing IT services, how to establish a presence in Greater Washington, and hear what other leading U.S. Government contractors are looking for in their partners.

GWI will host 13 educational sessions for all FOSE attendees as well as two receptions to connect local partners with international companies attending the exhibition.

The GWI educational sessions will cover the following topics:

  • Meet the Primes: Lockheed Martin/Booz Allen Hamilton/Perot Systems
  • Selling Techniques to the U.S. Government
  • Leveraging GSA Schedules of SDB/8(a) Certification for U.S. Government Business

  • U.S. Government Technology Forecast & Subcontracting Opportunities
  • Meet the Primes: EDS/General Dynamics/BearingPoint
  • Innovative Strategies for IT Business in Europe
  • Security Clearances 101
  • Opportunities for Contracting with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security
  • Speakers at GWI sessions will include top U.S. and international business executives, U.S. government officials and contractors, and consultants specializing in doing business with the U.S. Government.
