Bill Badger Named to Head Regional Economic Development Committee
August 10, 2005; Washington, DC – Bill Badger, President and CEO of the Anne Arundel Economic Development Corporation, was named chair of the Greater Washington Initiative’s Area Business Development Officials Committee (ABDOC) at its annual summer retreat. ABDOC is a group of local, senior economic development executives. Larry Rosenstrauch, Director of the Loudoun County Department of Economic Development, was named Vice Chair.
"GWI does a terrific job positioning the region as an ideal location for business," Badger said. "I am honored to chair ABDOC and I look forward to a busy, productive year."
Badger has more than 20 years experience in economic development. He was formerly with the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development. Badger also serves as Chairman of the newly established World Cities Alliance.
Prior to joining the Loudoun County Department of Economic Development, Rosenstrauch served in similar positions with economic development organizations in Charlotte, NC, and New Orleans, LA.
As part of its ongoing collaborative work, ABDOC agreed to jointly host a tour for site location consultants in September and to work over the coming year to bring CoreNet Global’s annual summit
for site location consultants, corporate real estate professionals and service providers to Greater Washington in next few years. This effort will be done in conjunction with CoreNet Global’s Mid-Atlantic Chapter.
