Greater Washington Initiative Welcomes Two New Team Members
September 20, 2005; WASHINGTON , DC — The Greater Washington Initiative ( GWI) is pleased to announce the appointment of Julie Upham as Manager, Communications and Steven Pedigo Research Manager.
Last week, Julie Upham joined the Greater Washington Initiative staff as Communications Manager. A native Virginian and graduate of The College of William and Mary, Upham’s experience includes national media outreach for Z Communications, and special events/ communications work for the National Capital Area chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Steven Pedigo joins the staff this week in the newly created position of Research Manager. Most recently, he served as an analyst for the Government Accountability Office where he worked on projects ranging from defense technological capabilities to environmental and natural resources issues. A native of Texas, Steven holds a B.S. in Communication Studies from the University of Texas, a M.A. in Speech Communication from the University of Illinois, and a M.S. in Public Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon University.
