Size: 487 square miles

Prince George's County offers cutting-edge research centers just minutes by car or subway from the nation's capital, as well as rural towns with historic sites and a slower pace of life. The county has over 14,000 businesses, including DIGEX (HQ), Verizon, Giant Food (HQ), and Fujitsu. The Food and Drug Administration is completing a 350,000 sq. ft. facility in College Park, and the National Center for Health Statistics recently broke ground for its headquarters in the City of Hyattsville.

The county's park system has over 22,000 acres of parkland with numerous recreational facilities. The county's 28 municipalities create opportunities for a small-town feeling adjacent to urban opportunities and amenities. The Bowie Baysox (AAA) and the Washington Redskins offer professional sports entertainment, and the new 318,000 sq. ft. Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center at the University of Maryland provides a variety of events. The Smithsonian museums, the Kennedy Center and the monuments in Washington DC are minutes away via one of the county's 12 metro stations.
