Highways

Regional transportation infrastructure encourages car and van pooling with High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) road solutions. Three major Northern Virginia interstates (I-95, I-66 and I-395) and two Suburban Maryland highways (I-270 and Route 50) offer HOV lanes, requiring two to three occupants per vehicle.

Regional interstates connecting the region to major cities across the country include I-95, I-70 and I-66.
