Greater Washington Initiative and Greater Washington Board of Trade Announce Staff Appointments and Promotions
February 14, 2007; Washington , DC – The Greater Washington Board of Trade and its economic development arm, the Greater Washington Initiative, today announced the following staff appointments and promotions.
Greater Washington Initiative
Angie Lawry joins GWI on March 12 as Director of Marketing and Communications. She has been with the Charlotte Regional Partnership since 1999, most recently serving as Vice President, Community Relations. She holds a Masters of Science from the University of N.C. at Charlotte and a BA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Steven Pedigo has been promoted to Director of Research. Prior to joining GWI as Research Manager, he was an analyst for the U.S. GAO and worked with author Richard Florida on creative occupational evaluations. He holds a B.S. from the University of Texas and graduate degrees from Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Illinois.
Greater Washington Board of Trade
Roxanne Rukowicz has been promoted to Director of Meetings and Events. She previously served as Senior Manager, Programs and Events. A graduate of Penn State, Roxanne has been managing events at the Board of Trade since 1999.
Lindsay Godwin has been promoted to Director of Programs. Having joined the Board of Trade in 2003 to build programs for small business members, she most recently served as Manager, Small Business Network. She has a MPA from George Washington University and a BS from Florida State University
Julie Upham has been promoted to a newly created position of Associate Director of Corporate Partnerships, in charge of managing relationships with sponsors of Board of Trade programs and events. Previously Communications Manager for the Greater Washington Initiative, she holds a BA from the College of William & Mary and is pursuing an MPA from George Mason University.
Uzma Lakhani has been promoted to Manager, Meetings and Events. A graduate of the University of NC-Chapel Hill, she previously served as Program Assistant, Meetings and Events.
Nicole Tarnogursky joins the Board of Trade on Feb. 27 as Manager, Professional Development Programs. A graduate of George Washington University, she was previously with the U.S. Agency for International Development.
