GWI to Host March 14 Conference at CeBIT in Hannover, Germany on Doing Business with the U.S. Government
WASHINGTON, DC; Feb. 15, 2005 – A team from the Greater Washington Initiative (GWI) will travel to Hannover, Germany on March 14 to host a conference on Doing Business with the U.S. Government: The World’s Largest Buyer of Technology.
The conference will be held during CeBIT (www.cebit.com), the world’s largest annual IT, telecommunications, software and services exhibition. Last year, CeBIT attracted 6,200 exhibitors and more than 510,000 visitors representing companies from around the world. This year’s events run from March 10-16.
The conference will provide: an overview of how to do business with the U.S. government; information on how to increase current government business through the General Services Administration (responsible for over 25% of U.S. government procurement); and highlights regarding U.S. Government procurement opportunities within the areas of information technology, telecommunications and homeland security.
Featured speaker, Kay C. Goss, Senior Advisor for Homeland Security, Business Continuity Planning and Emergency Management Services for Electronic Data Services Corporation (EDS) in Herndon, Virginia, will discuss current opportunities for partnering with EDS.
Other speakers include Kevin Plexico, Executive Vice President of INPUT, a Reston, Virginia-based provider of government market intelligence ; Karl Pringle, Director of U.S. Operations for U.K.-based Strategic Thought located in Herndon, VA; Dr. Bernd Fischer, Economic Minister at the German Embassy in Washington, DC; Eckart Pech, President & CEO of Detecon Inc., a German-based telecommunications and innovation engineering company with U.S. headquarters in Reston, Virginia; and Matthew Lee, President & CEO of Fastech Inc, a Korea-based fast growing 8(a) IT services firm located in Beltsville, MD.
