Thomas G. Morr to Leave Top Position at Greater Washington Initiative; Tim Priest Named Interim Managing Partner

May 11, 2005; Washington , DC – Thomas G. Morr, Managing Partner of the Greater Washington Initiative (GWI), the region’s economic development marketing organization, has resigned to accept an executive position with an economic development organization in another region of the country. Morr, who has led GWI since February 1999, is leaving on June 15.

Tim Priest , currently GWI’s Vice President, Business Development, will serve as Interim Managing Partner for GWI upon Tom Morr’s departure. With expertise in economic development marketing and research, Tim has been with GWI since 1998.

“For the past six years, Tom Morr has led a successful regional economic development organization that is well-respected nationally and internationally for its innovative business development initiatives, reliable research projects and creative marketing efforts. We are very grateful to Tom for his hard work and excellent leadership of the organization.
