If you experience problems viewing the Chinese and/or Japanese characters, follow these simple instructions for a for a free language patch from Microsoft.

*Instructions for Download:

  1. Download the Power Point from the link as you would any other document from the web.  The prompt will pop up to “open” or “save”, click save.  It may take a few moments.
  2. Open the Power Point.  The characters should look like open boxes or dots.  Leave the document open.
  3. Next, you'll need to go to the link(s) below and download the Microsoft Language Patch.  It will ask a few questions and then it should just take a minute or two to download.

  4. Return to the open Power Point Presentation and the characters should appear. 
  5. Re-save the presentation as you would any other document.  If you need to show this presentation on any other computer, you'll need to download the patch to that computer as well.
