Best known for its Civil War battlefields, the City of Manassas is a thriving business center where landmarks and contemporary high technology businesses are carefully blended. The City's charming turn-of-the-century downtown has been preserved as a historic district with museums, shops, and restaurants. Residents here have a choice of old established neighborhoods and the most modern new communities.

Businesses prefer Manassas for its favorable tax rates and utility costs, proximity to Washington Dulles International Airport, and easy access by interstate highway to the rest of Greater Washington. The City's willingness and ability to process plans quickly and fairly is well known in the business community. The City's growing high technology community includes IBM/Toshiba, Lockheed Martin, Aurora Flight Sciences, and Electromotive.
