Located 40 miles south of Washington, DC and 55 miles north of Richmond, Stafford County brings together the easy pace of a rural lifestyle and the energy and opportunity of a growing business community. Rich in history, this is the site of George Washington's boyhood home. Residents enjoy a wealth of recreational activities. The Potomac and Rappahannock Rivers provide excellent swimming, fishing and boating.

Stafford County's strategic location on the I-95 corridor is ideal for light industrial, warehouse, distribution, research and development and office parks. Many technology-based firms have located here. And extensive areas are zoned for commercial and industrial expansion. Major employers include Intuit, Colonial Circuits, Geico Insurance and Capital One Financial Corporation.
