The Business Development arm of GWI saves companies and site selection consultants time, legwork and money by bringing together the talents and resources a firm needs to evaluate, plan and proceed with an expansion or move. Providing this one-stop service to our clients – including site selection consultants, real estate professionals, corporate and association executives – allows GWI to generate highly qualified business opportunities for its investors and for Greater Washington.
GWI coordinates the Area Business Development Officials Committee, comprised of senior economic development officials of area jurisdictions, a group that collaborates on projects to improve the region’s business climate.
The GWI business development team provides a number of complimentary services including:
Customizes proposals that incorporate specific research and analysis of market conditions and offer GWI clients the information they need to make an informed decision about relocating or expanding into Greater Washington. A typical proposal includes a competitive analysis, cluster mapping, trends in industry sectors, demographics and real estate data.
Conducts business development missions to meet with companies interested in expanding into the region or learning of the region’s business potential.
Hosts professional delegations and site tours that allow firms and visiting business organizations to learn first-hand about our region’s assets and meet with local executives.
Develops strategic alliances with international professional organizations, such as the Trade Partners UK, Greater Toronto Marketing Alliance and others, to provide international firms with valuable contacts for conducting business in Greater Washington.
